• Nick Perugini Assistant Coach \ Doctor of Physical Therapy Graduating DPT Class of 2018

    Nick Perugini received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Temple University in 2015. During his time at Temple, he began personal training clients in the Graduate Hospital area in small group settings. After discovering CrossFit in 2012, Nick quickly took on an Intern Strength and Conditioning role here at CrossFit Love. During this time, Nick began implementing a mobility program which incorporated corrective exercise, self-administered soft tissue work, and myofascial release techniques. In 2013 Nick earned multiple CrossFit certifications including his CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Mobility, and CrossFit Football. Entering his last year of school at Temple University, Nick earned a position as an intern Strength Coach at Temple University where he assisted in the development of 18 Olympic Sports teams. Here he was able to refine his skill set working with athletes by the way of resistance training, speed and agility training, and self-myofascial release. In the Fall of 2015, Nick entered the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Widener University where he is currently projected to receive his DPT in the Spring of 2018. Since beginning his journey in Strength and Conditioning and Rehabilitation, Nick has become certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer and through USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.Nick’s passion lies in quality and precision of movement. Nick works with individuals to educate them on the importance of injury prevention techniques, while maximizing performance in and outside of the gym setting. By taking a scientifically based approach to treating and coaching athletes, he ensures that the athlete is receiving the most up to date care during his classes.

    Rosa started at Crossfit Love four years ago as a member but her passion, loyalty and hard work made us want her on our team as our Controller. Since joining Crossfit Love, she has completely changed her lifestyle, making her the vigorous person she is today. Through her journey to health and wellness, she became even more passionate about food, nutrition and finding ways to implement real, whole foods into her life.Being an accountant, Rosa has put her BA in Business Administration to use by working with people and numbers. Rosa’s purpose is to support the Crossfit Love Team by building and keeping an administrative support system for the business, allowing the staff to focus on the mission of delivering excellence in fitness coaching.

    Dr. Torrance was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and when he was 12, his family moved to Sarasota, Florida. In Sarasota, Dr. Torrance developed his love for sports, excelling in basketball, football, and baseball. In 2004, he graduated from Sarasota’s Riverview High School as a two-sport student athlete. After high school, he accepted a combined academic and athletic scholarship from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. At Limestone College he played baseball and graduated in 2008 with a double Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. After achieving his undergraduate degree, Dr. Torrance returned home to Sarasota, where he gained experience working in Marketing before beginning medical school.

    In 2013, Dr. Torrance graduated medical school from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He then was invited to complete his Family Medicine Residency in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Dr. Torrance is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Currently, he is a fellow in Sports Medicine in Vineland, NJ while he continues to specialize in Family Medicine, functional medicine, and sports nutrition. Another professional experience has been through continuing education in Functional Medicine through the California Center for Functional Medicine. Also, Dr. Torrance was invited to work on the medical staff at the 2016 CrossFit Regionals and 2016 CrossFit Games.

    Alongside his medical career, Dr. Torrance has continued his athletic pursuits. He has achieved a ranking as a semi-professional beach volleyball player, and trains as a competitive CrossFit athlete. His recent sports accomplishments include finishing 197th in the Mid-Atlantic Region as an individual athlete in the 2016 CrossFit Open, as well as qualifying a team for the 2016 Kill Cliff Granite Games.
